Brewdog – Libertine Black Ale
Abv: 7.2% IBU: 65
The Beer: I’m getting a hit of peat, darker roasted malts, some hints of treacle, possibly dark toffee; black in colour, tan frothy head that hangs around a bit; plenty of rich, dark roasted malts in the flavour, traces of treacle come out, hints of dark roasted coffee; full bodied, plenty of bitterness without blowing out the mouth, plenty of alcohol warmth.
Thoughts: Seriously very good. Not had a beer as good as this in ages. It encourages you to take smaller sips, you just want to savour every mouthful. Even found some hints of vanilla in there as it warmed up. Little of fault (i.e. nothing, other than there not being enough in the bottle), plenty to enjoy. Bloody marvellous.
