Septem – Pale Ale

Septem - Pale Ale

Septem Microbrewery – Friday’s Pale Ale
Abv: 4.7% | IBU: 32

Aroma: Plenty of malts infused with hints of fruit (specifically grapefruit)

Appearance: Clear bronze, some carbonation, light frothy head

Taste: Good balance of bitterness at first and mouthful of malt; bitterness doesn’t last too long and gives way to a pleasant slightly sweet malt taste

Mouthfeel: light to medium bodied, smooth, not much in the way of a kick or warmth

Overall: A first from Greece, and really quite enjoyable. Appealing to the eye, there’s a good mix of malts and initial bitterness that has the balance sorted. I find this quite drinkable to the point that you could have several of these and I guess they would get better as you carry on going through more and more bottles. Yes. Very good. And they do a porter…
