Savour Beer – Dubbel, Belgian Dubbel ,7.0% alc vol 35 IBU
Aroma: Plenty of malt, some hedgerow fruitiness (spangles, if you know what they are)
Appearance: Dark brown, clear; little or no carbonation visible, bit of a head but not much
Taste: Plenty of rich malts, some bitterness on the sides of the tongue, some slightly burnt caramel (not in a bad way), some sweetness as the beer warms up.
Mouthfeel: medium to heavy bodied, warm alcohol not too intense.
Overall: Cor. This is a really great beer. Something to savour rather than throw down the throat in great bucket loads. As I am writing this the beer is warming nicely (it was served at garage temperature), and whilst it does the flavours grow. Very enjoyable and will inspire me to look out for their other beers.
