In the Northern hemisphere it is completely inappropriate to be writing about summer ales especially when it is now getting dark almost as soon as the sun rises; however, this has been sitting around for a while waiting to be written about…
Newcastle – Summer Ale, 4.4% vol
Aroma: light, a little hoppy
Appearance: light, frothy head, manages to stay a while; very few bubbles; light amber
Taste: very light hops, fresh, some vanilla
Finish: light bitterness at first, medium bitterness at sides of tongue; overly carbonated, a little smooth
Really not much to find in this beer. I can see that people will find this quite refreshing, but there are some much better alternatives out there. Not for me.
