Williams Bros – March of the Penguins
The fabulous thing about shopping in a different town is that there’s usually a new brewer distribution area in the local super markets. In this case it doesn’t make sense since the brewer is in Scotland and I was shopping in the next town (in Kent).
Williams Bros – March of the Penguins, 4.9% alc
Aroma: rich, dark roasted malt aromas, strong toasted edges, some berry infusions (i.e. Vimto) possibly edges of vanilla
Appearance: Clear black (you can see through it as you pour); frothy tan head
Taste: Dark roasted malts come out, strong clean taste; medium bitterness all the way through from start to finish, fairly long lasting.
Finish: Medium bodied, and smooth
Really very good and an enjoyable stout, not too harsh and fairly well balanced. I’d like it if the brewer added to their website why it is called what it is. But anyway, it is a good beer.
