Fox Deluxe - Discombobulator
I will readily admit that this is a beer I was not exactly drawn to in the store; however, I took advantage of a tasting and thought this was certainly worth another try (the alternative was a cherry-wheat)

Aroma
A rich, malty aroma; some vanilla-caramel tones, faint traces of roasted tones in there for good measure
Appearance
Very dark brown; cloudy but not too dark; not much in the way of a head, but what there is is foamy on the tan side of white

Taste Experience
Richly toasted, strong caramel tones, some nuttiness in the main taste; not overly bitter, but what there is seems to come from the roastings; this is stealthy in its alcoholic strength, it eventually hits you and disguises its 9% very well; essentially very smooth, slightly creamy.
Comments
Overall, this is a good beer. Its smoothness manages to mask the alcoholic strength making this one of the less harsh doppelbocks I can remember having. It would be good to see them put up a website and maybe go if for a little more publicity; this is a good enough beer not to be missed, but certainly not one I was aware of especially given it is relatively local for me.
