Its been so long since I did a Stout, this can be explained away by hitting the IPA world, but once can never give up on something you really enjoy. This is a seasonable beer that comes out in December.
| The Beer | Lagunitas – Cappuccino Stout, 9.2% abv |
|---|---|
| Aroma | Dark roasted malts with deliciously rich coffee infusions |
| Appearance | Very dark brown; tan, fluffy head that quickly goes |
| Taste | Blend of dark roasted coffee, roasted malt and some lively, fruity like elements (think dried vine fruits), even some port like qualities |
| Mouth feel | Full bodied; bitter edging towards the bitterness of ground coffee; somewhat rough and most definitely alcoholic |
| Comments | Really very good. I’m not aware of having a coffee stout before (searched the site for one and couldn’t find one), so this is the first. Perfectly acceptable and enjoyable. Not sure about the backdrop on the photo, needs a little more work. |
