Pale Lager, bottled – The Pilsner. Since SAB-Miller bought the brewery it now seems to be available everywhere. This has to be welcomed since the beer is just fabulous, and much like all other beers, is best tasted in the country of origin.
The beer: Bottled. 4.4%. Just gorgeous, pleasant taste. The right amount of gas, best drunk from a glass since the beer settles better. Golden colour with a light, fluffy head with staying power. All natural ingredients, no chemicals.
This has to be one of my favourite beers. Its a pleasant drink, great from the bottle, even better on tap(draft). Unlike most mass produced beers, this actually tastes consistently great, and on the whole travels well – I have tried this in UK, US and it tastes as good. If you have never tried this then all I can say is try it and love it. In Czech Republic this does come in a fabulous unfiltered version that is a whole different experience, and quite honestly even better than this ‘standard’ version. When visiting Czech Republic try the unfiltered version, its a shame you can’t get it outside the country.

Update (2008-06-23): This is still, in my humble opinion, one of the best bottled beers available in terms of consistency of quality and taste. It is a (hugely) mass produced beer but still manages to remain good.
